Social Skill Advantages of Toddler Home Schooling

Critics of home schooling allege that it deprives kids of opportunities to horn their social skills while kids at public schools have better chances in this area due to the school environment. They base their allegations on the theory that the scope of social interaction at home is limited which curtails their intellectual and mental development. However, researches have proved these allegations as false.

Although public schools boast of a large of number of students, the kids have to put up with peer pressure and unfair competition that force many kids to stay aloof and keep to them-selves most of the times. They are often afraid to talk and interact with other kids for fear of failure. Even if they socialize, it is only with a few of their peers, and lack opportunities to interact with kids of various age groups or other elders. This will reflect on their future outlook and they will feel lost in the outside world.

On the other hand, children schooled at home are directly influenced by their parents. They also get opportunity to mingle with kids of various age groups and elders in the family and support groups. They are saved from the negative influence of their peers and don’t have to face unequal competition as in a public school. They feel free to mingle and socialize with every one at home and other members of their group.

Also, they become more confident to talk, ask questions and clear their doubts. They are able to closely follow the good qualities of their parents. And through the loving intervention of the parents they become more aware of the importance and purpose of learning.

Kids who are properly trained and schooled at home become adept at entering the world confidently. Equipped with both social and intellectual skills, properly home schooled kids often turn out to be better balanced personalities than their public schooling peers.
