Healthy toddlers are famous for their boundless energy and unending quest for new fun at every moment of their waking hours. Hence, parents often find it a great challenge to raise toddlers and have to look for new ways to keep them engaged. Here are some strategies that are innovative, engaging, as well as inexpensive.
Toddlers love nothing more than getting an opportunity to play and explore in the outside world away from the boring environment of their home. They will feel as happy as a lark just freed out of a golden cage. They enjoy a keen sense of freedom and independence. It revives their spirits and exercises their body. They get plenty and sun shine and fresh air. All their moodiness and crankiness is forgotten.
After the fun and frolic, they come back with a huge appetite to eat anything even without a hint of prompting from anyone. Hence, parents should allow their kids to spend time outside as much as possible, if it is safe and the weather is fine.
Toddlers get easily bored with too much toys. They become confused, and are unable to choose one from the lot to play with. They will soon leave the whole thing and look elsewhere for fun. Hence, parents need to give only a few of them for one or two days and hide the rest. Then, give another set of toys from the lot when they get bored with the old set. Repeat this process every now then, and the kids will enjoy getting new set of toys to play with very often. They will also feel happy to see again toys that they had almost forgotten.
Giving them plenty of fruit snacks is another healthy way of making them happy. But make sure that these are given about 90 minutes before their meals. Children love to eat any type of fruits, even though they may have some preference. Keep a good supply of their favorite fruits and serve them as and when needed, but 90 minutes before meal time. Unlike other types of snacks, the fruits will not only subdue their hunger for the time being but also help to increase their appetite.
Toddlers become very happy when they are given chances to do thing by themselves and have the freedom to choose something. Give them these opportunities as much as possible after making sure that these activities are harmless.
