Only mothers or similarly responsible persons are generally able take effective precautions for preventing occurrence of diseases in kids. Doctors are there to cure the disease, but prevention is the responsibility of the mothers because they or their representatives spend more time with the kids in normal times. Hence, mothers should take good care of their kids and train themselves to detect any signs of illness in the children. An early detection of illness can enable kids to get medical attention on time before their condition becomes critical.
Moreover, proper treatment of the kids depends upon their mothers’ patient and selfless attendance. The mother also needs to observe carefully the symptoms of the disease and report these to the doctor without any deviations. The doctors are busy and cannot spend much time with the kids to observe all the signs and symptoms that may change every now and then. It is the duty of the mother or her representative to report the changes and the present condition of the kid to the doctor exactly. Wrong information can result in incorrect diagnosis and medication, which might put the kid’s life into danger.
Also, mothers or their representatives should ensure that the medication and procedures prescribed by the doctor is followed exactly and on time. This is important because diseases that affect the kids are often sudden and progress very rapidly. Any delay or wrong administration of the medicines and procedures can harm the kid or make the treatment ineffective.
Only a loving mother or her representative can give special attention and take gentle measures to lessen the suffering the ailing kid. The kids need loving words, touch and attention, which probably only a mother can give. Only a person who knows the temperament of the kid can anticipate and provide for its needs and be sensitive to its fretfulness and sufferings. Hence a mother’s role is important in effectively treating a sick child. And her responsibility is greater when it comes to preventing diseases.
